UNIQUE TO CASCIA HALL

experience for its students, DeLo
explains,“My favorite aspect of the
Cascia Hall Minimester program is the
wide array of sponsors we can choose
to intern - you can choose whatever
suits you best. Completing these
internships also gives you insight into
how businesses function, preparing you
for life after high school and even
college.”And it is the wide-array of
internship sponsors and exceptional
support system that DeLo has found to
be another aspect of Cascia Hall that she and many other students appreciate.
Cascia Hall makes it a priority to nd sponsors that not only t the interests of the student interns, but also to nd sponsors who would best meet the needs and goals of the student in the Minimester Internship Program. Internship sponsors have been so pleased and impressed by Cascia Hall’s students that they continually offer to sponsor an intern if one should be seeking an experience in their respective elds. But what’s even better? As Cascia Hall continues to grow, the available sponsors and the uncommon opportunities for Cascia’s students continues to expand, reaching new heights and exploring unknown places.
Jake Daniels ’17 grew up in a car family - they buy cars, x cars, restore cars, and drive cars. It seems only natural that Daniels would nd himself interning with a company and individual that would allow for him to have a wrench in his hand and machines all around. This Minimester, Daniels will be interning at AeroNautique under the guidance of Paul Wanamaker. Among many technologic programs,AeroNautique is known for its premier stress analysis on aircraft, including all facets of design and certi cation from avionics and electrical systems to refurbishments and airframe modi cations. At this Minimester internship experience, Daniels will be working on engines that t into some of the most advanced aircrafts.
When asked about his interest in cars and machines, Daniels explains,“I’ve grown up in a car family; both my dad and grandpa are huge car enthusiasts, and I was always
around them when they started talking about cars or working on them.Turning sixteen meant it was my turn to join the ranks of car enthusiast in the family, and that’s when I received my great-grandpa’s 1972 Chevy C-10 Deluxe long bed truck.” Working on cars is Daniels’ ultimate career goal, especially when it comes to design, restoration, and modi cation. Despite his enthusiasm and excitement for this unique opportunity, Daniels also recognizes the hard work and necessary attention that the internship will require. In fact, he has already discovered that there is a signi cant amount of work put into crafting and engineering each part found in the plane.
“I aim to learn the intricate construction of all machines, so working on airplanes will only increase my skills and knowledge. Plus, the shop experience will only make me a more viable candidate for future internships and jobs during and after college,” says Daniels with solemnity and consideration. Ultimately, Daniels is simply excited to share in the Minimester experience for a second time, since he enjoyed the bene ts of his rst Minimester internship immensely: “Cascia Hall’s Minimester Internship Program allows high school students to enter into the workforce and ‘test drive’ what they would like to do as a career. My Minimester experience will allow me to gain more con dence and skill in the profession I have already discovered that I want to pursue.” Daniels smiles, “It’s constant work to perfect a machine, and having the opportunity to work on a machine that not every machine enthusiast gets to experience, is truly an event unique to Cascia Hall.”
