• What makes a Crisis?
In essence, there are 3 types of crisis.
Those such as plane crashes, accidents, spillages of chemicals,

product defects and so on, which befall a company.
Those that are manufactured. For example, the Brent Spar
2 would have caused no controversy for Shell had Greenpeace
not become involved.
Those crises which escalate from an accident. For example, the
3 Chernobyl nuclear power plant exploded, the green groups
were quick to seize on it as a means of attacking the nuclear
industry throughout the world.
