Unforgettable Project
Last fall, together with the Director of the restaurant where
I am working as a shift manager we actively participated in vol-
unteer projects that were part of the “KFC Marathon of Good
Deeds”. We arranged a fest for senior people, were helping
people with disabilities, went in for gardening and shared some
clothes with orphanages.
The project delivered together with the club of aiding the
people with disabilities became unforgettable for me. The guys
had arranged a concert aimed to demonstrate that people with
various diseases do not differ from other people, that they can
sing and dance as well, and that beauty can be different. The
guys were making a défilé, for which they had been thoroughly
preparing for a long time. I was accompanying Max with ICP (in-
fantile cerebral paralysis). We had some rehearsals, danced and
laughed a lot – we were just enjoying our lives.
Everything that happened was astonishing to me. The peo-
ple with such severe diseases were overcoming any barriers and
were not afraid to demonstrate themselves as they were. I was
just admired with their persistence and willpower. I have started
thinking that there are people who get over themselves every
day and that their life experience can never be compared to
mine.
I think if more people help the guys with disabilities, they will
be treated more fairly and loyally in the society.
