I Am a Volunteer and I Like It!

For me, a volunteer is a person doing something beneficial,
without asking anything in return and getting satisfaction from
that. I am that kind of person.
Even at school, I was volunteering a little, then I went to col-
lege and there my volunteering got new sparkling colors. I have
been participating in most diverse projects, trying to help kids,
senior people, animals and environment!
When I came to the Senior People’s Home and was reading
to the senior singles the books about the Great Patriotic War,
I saw on their faces the pain they had gone through, but also ap-
peasement because the horror had been left behind. I am glad
that I can at least somehow bless them for everything they had
done for us.
I cannot just pass by an abandoned kitten or a puppy in the
street without helping it. I am stronger; I have the opportunity
to give it my care, tenderness, warmth and food. An animal can
become a true friend and it will never betray.
I have been taking part in the charity program “Generation
Choice” which is aimed to help kids from boarding schools and
orphanages to find their vocation, their future profession. When
we are playing with them or organizing a fest, I see their shin-
ing eyes: they are so happy inflating balloons or fulfilling another
task!
Getting involved into upgrading of the city environment, ei-
ther participating in a community cleaning day or planting trees,
I understand that I am making this world a little better.
I am not asking anything in return, all these activities have
already been granting me good emotions and pleasant amuse-
ment. Each of us can be a volunteer. When you feel that someone
needs you and that you do not live in vain, it gives you a warm
and comfortable feeling inside.
