                  Drawing a Little Happiness

I have grown up in an orphanage and was perceiving my child-
hood in dark colors. That is why I got so impressed by the story
about the activities of the KFC Corporate Charity Fund “Open-
ing Horizons”, which I heard during the “Induction” seminar held
for the new employees hired to the chain of KFC restaurants.
When the leaders and the leader of the charity project “Genera-
tion Choice” were telling us how they helped the kids remaining
without parents, I could not hold my tears. I know so well how
important it is for a kid to get attention, communication and the
              feeling that someone needs you.
After the seminar, with the help of a project leader, I immedi-
ately joined the pool of the corporate volunteers and our friendly
team went to see the kids. In the course of my involvement into
the project I have started to treat all that is happening around me
more seriously. Together with that, I have got a huge experience
in organizing and feel the drive to get new knowledge.
After working in KFC for less than one year, I quit: I was offered
a job aligned with my profession. But I still remain a member of
the volunteers’ team of the Fund because there I have the op-
portunity to help the orphans: to train, direct, give a clue, un-
derstand, give a hug – in other words to try and give them ev-
erything that I was lacking so much in the most difficult period
              of my life.
While doing something good I am looking at my life with op-
timism as if dissolving the grey colors, rudeness and sadness of
everyday routines. Now I have taken the colorful paints of justice,
warmth and kindness and have been drawing a little happiness.
