I think that all people who have been giving their free time,
care and love to kids, animals and adults in need of help, shall be
called superheroes. I have always wanted to become such a hero
as well. Since my childhood I was caring about those around,
bringing home various homeless animals, washing and feeding
them, and in due time gave a shelter to a dog, a she-cat and
a he-cat. Besides, I was taking care of my cousin as a real mother.
All his childhood, while he was staying at his grandmother’s with
us, I was a mom for him. I taught him how to read and to write,
performing all the functions of a real mother, sharing my love and
care with him.
One day he was taken to the orphanage due to his mother’s
carelessness. I felt really hurt, sad and outraged. I dreamt of tak-
ing him back, went to visit him, but I could not get him out of the
orphanage. Every day we were saying good-bye to each other
all in tears. Fortunately, 6 months later he was let free – I got my
little baby-boy back!!!
Later on, having joined the KFC company, I started visiting or-
phanages together with my peers and became an official corpo-
rate volunteer of the charity program “Generation Choice”. When
I came to the orphanage in Azov for the first time, I was surprised
how kind were the kids, and at the same time I was upset – the
kids needed love desperately. And how pleasant it is to share it
with them, to give a hug meeting each other and the hugs get
even stronger when we are saying good-bye.
I am very glad that due to this charity programme I have an
opportunity to become a little hero for the kids, while talking to
them and helping them to choose their future profession. The
kids have been giving me so much energy, and they became my
friends long time ago!
