OK, now the pattern above, repeated over and over will give you a blues
rhythm. Before taking this on familiarise yourself with the chords of A D E.
Don’t be afraid to try different patterns, keys and chords. This is, after all, how
people come up with new songs and sounds.
That is it for beginners rhythm. Remember to listen to songs and try to hear
what they are doing with the guitars. Most importantly, try them out. When
you hear a rhythm you like, try to play it. Do remember to count the beats
though, it’s good practice to learn different timing signatures.
All that is left is for me to leave you with a few songs to practice with and to
wish you luck moving forward with your new life in music as a guitarist. A
good piece of advice for you all is to persevere and never give up. Playing
guitar can be a real git to begin with but once you get over the initial stages it
becomes a lot of fun, very satisfying and very rewarding. Take my word for it!
