The Circle of Fifths



          How many of you panicked when you turned the page and saw the big round
          thing underneath!! Firstly, don’t worry, it’s just a tool to help you find what
          chords you can use, how to change Key and how to find what minors to use.
          All shall be revealed in time, Grasshopper!!


          The circle of fifths has been around since ancient Greek times (It’s hard to
          imagine Thor, the God of Thunder playing the blues on a harp but there you
          go) and has been used ever since. We are only going to use it as a general guide
          with a very basic knowledge of how it works.


          You will see that the big round thing is split into 12 parts, each with a note
          symbol in it. These are the 12 notes that you will find on your fretboard
          though not in the same order. Let’s take a look at it:
