MSM: “How is that different with an egg in your hand?”
KB: “It is much harder. Try this. Push your finger
into the knife edge of your other hand, the part you
would use for a Shuto strike. Extend your fingers.
Feel how soft it is? Now keep your finger there and
make a fist and squeeze. You’ll notice your hand
is now much harder. The muscles have balled up
to provide a protective surface over the bone. This
is why the Hammerfist technique is so great. Now
imagine holding a baby bird in your hand. Just tight
enough so that it won’t fly away but gentle enou-
gh that you won’t hurt it or make it uncomfortable.
You’ll notice that the protective pad is gone and
your fingers are apart. Now go smash through
some slabs of concrete.”
MSM: “No thanks. I think I’d break my hand. In fact I think most
people would.”
KB: “That’s true. After I posted the video, lots of
people tried it. The comments were hilarious. Peo-

fun watching it go viral. One lady shared it and
said, “As far as pointless acts of precision go, this
one is pretty cool!” The support and attention that
this symbolic act has brought to the Martial Arts
has been awesome. Inspiring people to push their
limits.”
MSM: “What do you mean by symbolic act?”
KB: “To me it is symbolic of the true nature of the
Martial Arts. People think Martial Arts are for des-
troying, however the truth is that the Arts are for
preserving life amidst chaos. A fragile egg passing
unharmed through concrete is symbolic of how we
use our Arts to protect life.”
MSM: “So you just woke up one day and decided to do it?”
KB: “No, it wasn’t my idea at all. My friend, Mi-
chael McGann taught me how. We were sitting
on my back porch talking about the Graduation
Ceremony at my school the next day. I was being
