CDF Academy was founded in
1989, by Sifu Jack Soderberg and Guro Rich
Lamoureaux. They founded CDF to create a
school free from the political separation of
schools and the idea that a practitioner of a
particular style was bound by that style. Both
of these Masters are very highly skilled and
educated in various styles of martial arts,
including the style without style Jeet Kune
Do. They studied this under the instruction
of GM Danny Inosanto, one of the great men
who carried on the Bruce Lee lineage and in
my opinion a true genius of the martial arts.

Sifu Jack and Sifu Rich met in 1977 at a mar-
tial arts tournament in Chicago. Sifu Rich
had just defeated Kirby Mcdonald in spectac-
ular fashion and Sifu Jack came over to con-
gratulate him. They spoke about each others
training and instantly made a friendship that
has lasted 41yrs now and still going strong
! They began training together and joining
their two groups in a partnership that would
later become CDF Academy. Over the years
together they have affected 1000s of students
and Instructors from around the world.
