INTERVIEW  Introduction

THE        Joaquín Almería was born in Pamplona, Spain, in 1970. He
   26      started to train martial arts by practicing Judo and JuJitsu,
           when he was eight years old. At the age of eighteen he had
           become a martial arts instructor and got the rank of Black
           Belt in such arts as: Tae Kwon Do, Kick Boxing, Full Contact,
           Savate, and Muay Thai. By the years 1990 and 1992 he was
           nominated national and international champion on the
           fields of TaeKwon Do and Kick Boxing.
            As he participated in professional competitive events in
           Europe, he started to study dramatic art at the Theater
           Institute in Barcelona. In summer time, he used to go to
           the U.S.A. to study under the guidance of the best martial
           art masters. He is proud to have studied with the Grand
           Masters Dan Inosanto, George Dillman, Reylson Gracie
           (night Dan in Gracie JiuJitsu), and such masters as: Machado
           brothers, and Ron Balicki, among others. Likewise, he
           registered as personal trainer and Bachelor in Fitness
           under the American Council on Exercise ACE. He started to
           love the American customs and culture as he used to visit
           the country every three month. His most illustrious master
           there was Dan Inosanto from IAMA (Inosanto Academy of
           Martial Art) in Los Angeles.
           Dan Inossanto was an advanced student and a personal
           friend of Bruce Lee. Mr. Inosanto is currently the inheritor
           of his art and cultivates his teachings.
