The CQE “Board Pack”
It is every care home leader’s duty to create and maintain a “Safe and Caring” culture.
- And it is their board members’ responsibility to hold them accountable for doing so.
As 99% of UK care homes (see link) have residents who have been abused by their carers, it is patently clear that fostering and maintaining the right cultures presents a very difficult challenge for everyone.
Three simple page diagrams provide everything any care home leader or board member needs in order to feel assured that they are in touch with the needs of any care home with which they are involved.
“The Red Shift Count” reports on the number of “risky shifts” in each month; “The Group Safety Trend” reports on how much a home exceeds - or falls short of - the critical 70% safety threshold (above which “safe and caring” cultures establish themselves; And finally, because happy carers make for happy residents - the “Happiness at Work” rating reports on the happiness of its carers.
Each of these single-page diagrams forms part of the CQE System’s monthly report. All 3 of these pages and more are depicted and explained in the accompanying document.
