            sadness, and even some anger, when I spoke to old friends in
            St. Louis about the sale. If there has ever been a more iconic

            company  associated with all things American  – barbecues,
            holidays, the Super Bowl, the World Series – I can’t think of it. It

            would be hard to think of a truly more American brand.

               The idea that this company would no longer be American-

            owned would have seemed unfathomable  a  few years ago.

            There are actually many household names among companies
            that are foreign owned. Here are a few, along with the country
