Centrifuges are available in a range of sizes
and some have a selection of ‘bucket’ sizes to
accommodate a range of specimen containers/
tubes (Figures 2.27 and 2.28). Some models can
be expensive and complex, with built-in cooling
systems.
There are three types of centrifuges:
• hand-operated centrifuges
• microhaematocrit centrifuges
• general purpose centrifuges.
