MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT, MBS KL ALUMNI
How quickly a year has flown by! First of all, on behalf of the MBSKLAA I would like to thank the Editorial Board for doing a splendid job in putting together the 2018 Excelsior and is a pleasure again to pen a few words for the forthcoming 2019 edition.
Just a quick recap as to what the MBSKLAA did for the year. Apart from monthly meetings to discuss various matters concerning the Alumni and the School, the MBSKLAA had organised a few activities to bring the Alumni members together. We had a fun-filled bowling competition, luncheon for the senior alumni and an Annual Dinner. I must say, it was such a great delight to see more than thirty senior Alumni members attending the luncheon, and all still in good health. The Annual Dinner was also a great success, attended by more than 450 people. We had invitees from our fellow Alumni from various Methodist schools, near and far - Penang, Ipoh, Parit Buntar, Telok Intan, Klang and Kuala Lumpur to join in the fun too. Past and present principals, teachers and old boys were present to grace the functions. We had generous sponsors from the old
boys for the drinks and souvenir too. As usual, it was a boisterous occasion and the MBS school song echoed intermittently throughout the dinner!
The other notable achievement of the MBSKLAA is that the Kampar Student Residence is up and running in full operations now. We are proud that the Alumni is able to provide a home away from home accommodation to the students attending the TAR university and College
I see the Alumni Association as a convening point for the gathering of old school friends with a common vision to do good for the school and reminisce the old times. To continue with this tradition and stay connected, I call upon the young school leavers and those who are yet to be members to join the MBSKLAA. The Alumni always welcomes as many new members to join in to ensure an everlasting presence of the MBSKLAA
Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the MBSKLAA, the School Board of Governors, the Principal and the teachers for the continuous support and guidance given to the Alumni.
