going to save the sappiness for the end of 8-Bit next semester because there is no need for tears right
 now.
Evan Mullen: I’M NAKED! (I’m not naked, please don’t be alarmed.) I wish we got closer before
living together. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed living with you and having random laughs out of nowhere.
Even when you broke my glass dancing to Squidward Nose. Do you think we can request that at the
banquet? Anyway, you’re a really fun guy to be around. I’m glad you decided to join Ayanna and
me. I know Rosie agrees ;) When I think of you in band with me, now I can only see that 180 turn
you do in Space Oddity where I almost scream and I’m like “:O EVAN”. This isn’t goodbye because
I’m sure many more fun times are to come this year.
Caitlin O’Connor: My freshman year roommate... I’ll never forget my roots. That year feels like a
completely different time. I am not 2016 Bri anymore, and I know you’re not 2016 Caitlin. We both
grew so much that year and I wouldn’t change any of those times... Not even when you slapped me
with pizza, or bought a Brandon James mask just to mess with me, or put a bag over my head, or
rearranged furniture with me at 2 AM (and then I missed you too much). I’m glad we’ve stayed in
touch and that UDMB brought us together. Hopefully this winter we keep our promise and go up
and down the stairs all the time to hang out. I’m proud of how you’ve grown and changed for the
better throughout college. Don’t be a stranger.
Emily Hodgkins: I know you didn’t do band this year, and I’m still sad. I can’t not put you in my will
because you, of course, have had an impact on me. You can be open and honest with me even if I’m
totally wrong. I’ll never forget that one night freshman year that we bonded and got snow cones and
shared our ‘secrets’. It was all downhill from there. Nothing can beat the mistakes we have seen
each other make. I’m sad that we don’t see each other as much these days, but we’ll find a way,
EhMUHleeee. Hopefully, I’ll see you soon, buddy.
Alyssa Rosenblum: I know we never became close, but I just wanted to take a minute to say how
much of a bright, inspiring presence you’ve been since day one. I knew from the moment you posted
in our rookie page that you were going to do amazing things in this band. You can always see the
positive in people and find a way to see one positive in a pool of negatives. Thank you for believing
in my leadership with the tubas. Your faith in me has given me hope and made me smile when I
needed it. Also, if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have known that I could apply to be on CLIP staff and
that was an amazing experience. Thank you so much. I wish you only the best in your future
endeavors, and I know you’re going to be amazing.
Haley Will: I’m glad you stuck around UDMB long enough for us to meet! You brought some new
knowledge and inspiration into my life in another way, completely outside of band. Thank you for
thinking of me and being there to help me understand that part of my life that doesn’t make much
sense to most people. I know life has been crazy and we haven’t seen each other much, but hopefully
that will change when winter comes. I’ve loved any time we hung out together and I hope more fun
 times are to come.
Matt Grossman: I knew you before all of these people, so I just have to say something. Wow, man! If
we knew where we would both end up one day... I wouldn’t believe it. You have grown SO much
since I first met you at that competition. (Well, I technically met you at DMA/Vivace, but that was a
lil’ odd. I thought you were Howell’s drum major.) And remember when the Clifton DCI show got
rained out? A bonding experience. You have pushed through despite the obstacles, and chugged on
