Analogy-based instructional approach
An analogy-based instructional approach engages students in a study
of word families or word parts. They are taught to use parts of words
they already know to identify new words (Morrow & Morgan, 2006).
For example, children who already know the words bat, cat, and mat
can be asked to use their knowledge of the /at/ sound to identify the
words fat, rat, and sat.
