3. Laissez-faire leadership
a. A laissez-faire leader or manager
assumes a passive, nondirective, and
inactive approach and relinquishes
part or all of the responsibilities to the
members of the group.
b. Decision making is left to the group,
with the laissez-faire leader or
manager providing little, if any,
guidance, support, or feedback.
4. Situational leadership
a. Situational approach uses a
combination of styles based on the
current circumstances and events.
b. Situational styles are assumed
according to the needs of the group
and the tasks to be achieved.
5. Bureaucratic leadership
a. The leader or manager believes that
individuals are motivated by external
forces.
b. The leader or manager relies on
organizational policies and procedures
for decision making.
6. Transformational leadership
a. Focused on building relationships.
b. Motivates staff members through a
shared vision and mission.
c. Encourages and praises staff members
and inspires them to improve
performance levels while earning staff
respect and loyalty.
7. Servant leadership
a. Servant leaders influence and motivate
others by building relationships and
developing the skills of individual
team members.
b. Servant leaders make sure to meet the
needs of the individual team members
