                                                                per minute; respirations of less than 10
                                                                breaths per minute can indicate
                                                                respiratory distress.
                                                             e. Monitor urinary output, which should
                                                                be at least 30 mL/hr.
                                                             f. Monitor bowel sounds for decreased
                                                                peristalsis, because constipation can
                                                                occur.
