               Hematoma: Assessment Findings



                  ▪ Abnormal, severe pain
                  ▪ Pressure in perineal area (client states that she feels like she has to have a bowel
                    movement)

                  ▪ Palpable, sensitive swelling in the perineal area, with discolored skin
                  ▪ Inability to void
                  ▪ Decreased hemoglobin and hematocrit levels
                  ▪ Signs of shock, such as pallor, tachycardia, and hypotension, if significant blood
