A place like no other– Rajasthan
With beauty that extends to serenity. A land so
full of culture and heritage. With a history that
leaves one spellbound. A land that possesses the
one of the world’s largest deserts and takes pride
to be India’s largest state. Yes, that land is
Rajasthan.
The students of classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 were
taken to the three main cities of Jaipur,
Jaisalmer and Jodhpur in Rajasthan for their
school trip. The trip was organised in the month
of October, during the Dussehra holidays by
Crazy Holidays. Classes 9, 11, 12 went together
and grade ten being a huge number went
separately.
The students first landed at the capital city of
Jaipur. Jaipur evokes the images of the royal
family that once ruled the region and founded
in 1727 what is now called the Old City or “Pink
City” for its trademark building colour.
Students first visited the Amber Fort. It is an
old fort, built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh. The
Amber Fort was built in red sandstone and
marble and boasts of various buildings of
prominence like the 'Diwan-i-Aam', the 'Sheesh
Mahal' and even the 'Sukh Mahal'. The Amber
Fort has influences of both Hindu and Muslim
architecture. This fort also has the 'Shila Devi' History and Architectural style of
Temple and the 'Ganesh Pol' which is a gate Amber Fort being briefed to the
that leads to the private palaces of the kings. students by the guide.
