                  Emphatically putting forth his views





























               On    the   occasion    of   Vigilance
               Awareness  Week,  Gas  Authority  Of
               India  Limited  (GAIL)  organised  a
               Debate     Competition       on    4th
               November,     2016.   The    esteemed
               guests  took  time  off  their  busy
               schedule  to  judge  the  students.  The
               event  started  with  the  welcoming  of
               the  guests;  Mr  Anil  Kumar,  Chief                    The proud winners
               Manager     (Vigilance)   and    other
               dignitaries.

               The  debate  was  conducted  in  both  English  and  Hindi.  This  competition  was  open  to
               students of grades 9-12. Students were given the topic beforehand and they had to prepare
               for the same. The topic provided was “Corruption  can  be  eradicated  through  Public
               participation  rather  than  strict  laws”.  Students  were  seen  debating  both  for  and
               against  the  topic.  This  turned  out  to  be  a  truly  enriching  experience  all  the  way  as
               everybody present had some learning to take back with them.

               In  the  English  debate,  the  first  prize  was  bagged  by  Tirthanka  Chatterjee  (XI-F).  The
               second prize was awarded to Niteesh (XII-B) and the third prize was won by Sunidhi (IX)

               In the Hindi debate, the first prize was won by Shashanka Tiwari (XI-E), the second prize
               was won by Shreeja Mukherjee (XI-E) and the third prize was won by Poorvi (X).
               The winners were rewarded with cash prizes and certificates.  The first prize being a lump
               sum amount of Rs. 5000, second prize, Rs. 3000 and third prize Rs. 2000. As the winners
               took to the dais to collect their rewards, the crowd cheered on with a lot of admiration.
