“Western music is a sub-genre of what is now known as country music. “

Delhi Public School Bangalore North Western Music Team “Rock” and Western Lead
singers are trained both in musical instruments like, violin , guitar , drums, keyboard ,
traditional singing and mash up (Hindi and English) Languages. Both the Music Teams
have taken part in many Inter school competitions and won accolades. The team has also
taken part in AFS (Annual Inter –School Educational Fest) Events and have won
appreciation from the audience and the Judges.

Under the able guidance of the Music teacher Ms.Tania Das ,Music Unlocks Self expression,
Intelligence and Creativity among students.

 Inter– School (GOONJ) Competition: Western Music Team ‘Rock’ won the first place.

 Inter – School (AFS) Educational Fest: Western lead singer and western instrument
(Guitar) won the first place respectively.

Theme: ‘Indian Folk Song Competition’

DPS East school, situated at Sarjapur road organised an interschool Indian folk song
competition named ‘GOONJ’ for senior as well as junior students.

The students from grades 5 , 6 , 7 and 8 participated in the junior level category, while

the senior students were from grades 9 , 10 , 11 and 12 .

The junior level students sang a Tamil folk song and the senior students sang a Kannada
folk song. Out of the 4 schools which participated in the folk song competition, DPS
Bangalore North secured the second prize, both in the junior as well as senior level category.
