UK TEACHERS


            14  trainee  teachers  from  University  College  London  -  Institute  of  Education  visited  Delhi

            Public School, Bangalore North from 8th March to 17th March. The prime purpose of their
            visit  was  to  observe  and  learn  the  teaching  methodology  implemented  in  DPSBN.  They

            observed  classes  and  recorded  their  inputs  .They  were  also  keen  to  teach  a  few  classes
            according to their subject preference. They involved the students in a variety of activities.

            Later they gave their feedback on the lessons taken .It was an interactive session in which
            pedagogy was discussed and ideas were exchanged.



            These  enthusiastic  young  teachers  were  also
            eager to practise yoga. . Suryanamaskara and

            other basic Asanas were taught. Emphasis was
            laid  on  techniques  of  breathing  .It  was
            surprising to see their flexibility and genuine

            interest.  They  were  also  acquainted  to  the

            science associated with yoga and the research
            behind it.

            The Valedictory function was scheduled on the 17   March 2016 in the school auditorium.

            The function started with a welcome speech by Ms. Shiny and followed by the lighting of the
            lamp  by  the  dignitaries  Ms.  Carol,  Ms.  Imogen,  Ms.  Tessa  and  Mrs.  Pampa  Dutta.  The

            highlight of the day was a splendid dance performance by the UK teachers. After the cultural
            activity  everyone  assembled  to  discuss  how  the  education  system  works  in  one’s  country.

            Many suggestions and ideas were exchanged keeping in mind the welfare of each student. It
            was indeed an enriching experience. The UK teachers also appreciated the rapport between

            the teacher and the learner at DPSBN. They lauded the in-depth knowledge of the students
            and  their  innate  curiosity  to  learn  .The  team  also  expressed  their  gratitude  for  the  warm

            welcome and great stay at DPSBN.

            Interns from Azim Premji University visited DPS Bangalore North for a language enrichment
            Programme. The emphasis was on listening and speaking skills. The students were involved

            in  a  variety  of  activities  like  Reading  together,  Telephone  Play,  Singing  together  etc.  .The
            team  interacted  with  teachers  and  students  of  DPSBN,  observed  classes  and  discussed

            methods  of  oral  language  development  .Another  prime  objective  was  to  promote
            conversational language among children and hence gain confidence in communication skills .
