On June 28th, 2016 a group of 15 Teacher Interns from University of Missouri, Columbia,
USA, along with Professor Dr. Tony Castro visited our School as part of a cross cultural
internship programme. Three of them namely, Jill, Sara and Abby completed their
internship at DPSBN. They observed and attended classes conducted by our teachers for six
weeks. They were given an opportunity to observe various subjects and teachers to get hands
-on experience of planning lessons, conducting classes, handling behavioral issues,
counselling students, classroom management etc. Their observation is that they found the
internship programme fruitful and enriching, with exposure to many practical day to day
experiences faced by teachers. They also learnt the art of eliciting the best responses from
students thereby maximizing the output from them.
Our students were exposed to their teaching techniques and methods and this programme
proved to be a mutually beneficial one for the US Interns and our students as well.
