Første Indo Denmark Exchange 2016
Denmark Chapter
Hamlet Castle-Konberg Castle
One of the most recent and exciting additions to this academic year
has been the new exchange program, mainly focused on the theme
computers and technology at school, to Denmark also known as
the happiest country in the world. The first half of the exchange
happened in October when the students went from our school to
Roskilde Gymnasium, Denmark.
The students attended many classes along with the Danish
students and learnt a lot not only about the differences between
cultures but also in the education system, transport system and
the level of technology used in their schools for teaching and
learning. The classes they attended ranged from English to even Queen’s Residence
IT Biology, chemistry, maths and history.
As this exchange program like any other revolved around
culture as a base, the students also had the opportunity to visit
a great many historic monuments and landmarks in the country.
Denmark is a constitutional monarchy. The students visited the
Roskilde Cathedral near the school which is a historic UNESCO
World Heritage Site and which contained the shrines of the
previous monarchs and ruling dynasties of the country. They
also visited “Louisiana”, a modern art museum, the summer
palace of the Queen, the Kronborg castle in Helsingør, where
Shakespeare’s famous tragedy, Hamlet, is set.
