On Day 5 they were again at the school which had yoga in the morning followed by a
Bollywood dancing class with energetic steps that was very unlike anything that the Danish
students had ever experienced with a Hindi and math class . The latter half of the day was a
‘Kalakrithi’ fest put together by the Social Sciences department, which showcased the
different regions of India and their culture and specialties and mock parliament session.
Day 6 was the much awaited valedictory day as the
students got a chance to wear Indian clothes in all their
grandeur. In the morning, they visited ‘Bubbles’, a
school for autistic children and spent some time with
their students. And after a wonderful lunch, they had
the valedictory function where some of the Indian
students displayed Indian classical music and the
Danish students sang their national anthem. It was a
touching ceremony and when the students spoke about
their experiences, there were no dry eyes left in the
Valedictory function at DPSBN room.
The next day was the much anticipated trip to Hampi, a cultural
education trip for the Danes to see a glimpse of Ancient India. They
visited the temples, shrines and the historic UNESCO World Heritage
Site in Hampi. It was an eye- opening experience for the Danish students
as they saw India in its true essence and felt that they had been
transported to a world and time far, far behind. But too soon the two day
trip to Hampi ended and it was time for them to go back home. It was a
teary goodbye at the end with the students reminiscing everything that
they had experienced and consoling themselves with the thought that
though they were leaving, they had a lot of memories to carry back home.
