        Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols—November 2018

     In January 1898, an impatient Revd. J.L Hodgson reminded the Par-  The school bused all the college boys and their parents to the Cathe-

     traditional St John's College Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols has
     been held at St Mary's Cathedral.

     In  September  2005,  a  concert  programme  of  masses  by  Durufle,
     Haydn,  Widor  and  Couperin  was  performed  by  the  Old  Johannians,
     College  Choir  and  Collegium  Vocale.  This  concert  was  attended  by
     300 guests.
     Thus  the  tradition  continues...another  St  John's  College  Festival  of
     Nine  Lessons  and Carols  was  held at the Cathedral of St Mary the
     Virgin, Johannesburg on Sunday, 11th November 2018.
