An enlarged heart coupled with an increase in
pulmonary vascular markings can be indicative of left-
to-right shunting such as with ASD, VSD or PDA.
                3. What are the radiological features of Eisenmenger’s
                   syndrome?
The radiological features seen in Eisenmenger’s
syndrome are essentially those of pulmonary arterial
hypertension with dilatation of both the central
pulmonary arteries. Pulmonary hypertension is also
associated with peripheral pruning of blood vessels. So
there is reduction in the peripheral vascularity. Hence
the peripheral lung fields are often darker than usual, and
the central lung fields are often whiter (Fig. 3).

                4. What are the radiological features of cardiogenic
                   pulmonary edema?
The radiological features that support the diagnosis of
acute pulmonary edema are the following (Fig. 4):
                   • Presence of cardiomegaly.
