GETTING TO KNOW YOU

Dale Vincent

Dale was born in 1930 and grew up in the Polish neighborhood of Rockford.

He was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in Rockford. In
1943 he was a bat boy for the Rockford Peaches. After serving four years

in the United States Air Force, he served 28 years as a Rockford Firefight-
er, five of those years on the Rescue Squad.

He and his wife Joyce raised five
children while in Rockford and moved

to Lake Summerset 26 years ago.
Joyce passed away in 2015. They

have 14 grandchildren and one great
grandson. Because of macular degen-

eration, Dale is unable to drive but
enjoys going out for fish fries on Fri-

day evenings. He frequented Trini-
ty's chicken suppers and is happy to

be back in a Lutheran congregation.
He especially likes the singing of the

liturgy.
