All members of Trinity participating – that’s the key for our growth. It will take each of
us being intentional in finding creative ways to grow our congregation so the next gen-
th
erations are able to celebrate Trinity’s 350 Anniversary. (How’s that for optimism?)
How do we assure a continuation of our long heritage? How shall we continue to car-
ry out Trinity’s mission – Growing in Christ, Sharing God’s Word through Word,
Worship, and Service?
Many of our teams at Trinity can use more team players. All teams are crucial to our
ministry; however, Evangelism and Stewardship teams are vital to ensure continued
growth. Can you please prayerfully consider stepping out of your comfort zone and
checking out a team? Let’s begin enthusiastic discussions on these questions. The
trend for all denominations is declining church membership. Let’s be different – with
God’s help we will grow!
On another subject – Lent – As we begin our 40 Days journey together during Lent, I
want to share some thoughts from the Luther Seminary Lenten Devotional, “I Heard
the Voice of Jesus Say.”.
“As we enter Lent together, let’s not forget….it’s not going to church, or receiving ash-
es, or any of the faithful things that we do in public or in private that put us right with
God, but God’s gracious Spirit at work within us. It is the Spirit who leads us to pray
and to seek God, the Spirit who calls us together into community and makes us the
body of Christ, and the Spirit who is already at work among our neighbors, teaching
us all how to love.”
During this Lenten journey, may we hear the Holy Spirit directing our paths.
God’s blessings,
Sharon
