Collecting school supplies through September

Since both Durand and Dakota school are beginning now, it was decided at
the August Women’s Board to divide up the items that have already been
collected because some kids may need supplies now. BUT just to be clear,
supplies will still be collected through September. These items are still on
sale so we thank you for remembering to pick up and put in our “buggy.”

Some of the following items we are asking for are still needed:

Kleenex Clorox sanitizing wipes highlighters post-it notes

pens/pencils index cards ruled paper rulers

AAA batteries colored pencils notebooks 3-ring binders
2-pocket folders hand sanitizer band aids backpacks

ANY school supplies will be accepted and welcome. Thank you, thank you!!!
Watch for news of the next Mission Project from October to December, it will be fun, fun, fun.

The Women of Trinity find out that “Leadership is a Scary Business”…

The August Board meeting devotion (written by Dawn Olson, vice president of Northwest

Synod of WI) was called “Leadership is a Scary Business”. Whether one or many in charge
makes a decision, they may have to be brave to carry out or carry on while trembling in their
shoes. We know there will be barriers, challenges and most of all opposition. Yes, people will
oppose vehemently yet not give positive alternatives. Good leadership requires discipline,
courage, and determination. It requires visionary teamwork, hospitality, and a bit of humor.

Sometimes we feel overwhelmed by the challenges ahead of us but let us remember the prom-
ise in Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid for I am your God; I will
        strengthen you.”

In the July Traveler, there was an article regarding the six models of organizations. As

far as we know there has not been anyone who approached the Women’s Board asking ques-
tions or giving input or ideas of how they would like to see the future of this organization. At

the August 13 Board meeting there was a motion that was passed—if no one wants to continue
with the current model or begin a new model outlined in the July Traveler, we would recom-
mend dissolving. WE STILL WELCOME INPUT, QUESTIONS, and IDEAS…HOPEFULLY
                             RD
        BEFORE THE 23 OF SEPTEMBER.
We will continue in 2018 to do everything that the women were slated to do. We will continue
to pay for the supplies used during the Sunday Fellowships, the mission of collecting school

supplies and ELCA Good Gifts, Bake Sale in September, honor Confirmands in October,
Thankoffering service in November, Christmas Cookie/Candy Walk and Women’s Christmas
        Party in December.

All women are encouraged to come to the September 23 meeting and exercise their vote.
