From the Pastor’s Study…
A couple days ago I was astounded to see farmers in their fields combining corn.
It seemed incredibly early to be doing something so “fall like.” But then I looked
at my watch and was reminded that indeed it really IS fall. The time had come. I
admit I exhaled a bit that sounded a great deal like a sigh and I remember think-
ing how fast the summer months had flown by this year. I know full well that I am
not even remotely ready for the cold weather to return and I will be sad not to be
in my garden digging in the dirt.
The up side though is that at least all the fall ministries are in full swing now. It is
probably the only thing that has me smiling!! I love the fall if for no other reason
than the people of Trinity seem to be gathering once again for worship. The little
ones are once again sitting in the pews. There are giggles, and squirming, and
fussing noises echoing during the worship service—and thanks be to God for
that!!!
I know for some that their re-entry into church after the summer months can be
difficult. It’s exhausting to think about getting everyone moving in the morning
and out the door. Nine o’clock comes pretty early after a long week of work and
school and sports activities! I so admire those who make that extra effort to be
here at Trinity on a Sunday morning, and I want you all to know how important
you all are to the faith-life of Trinity. You not only have a place here, but you and
your presence are such a gift.
