MOTIONS TO RACO’S BIENNIAL DELEGATE CONFERENCE 2017
Motion 10: Defence Forces’ Industrial Relations Structures and Processes
The current Defence Forces Conciliation and Arbitration Scheme is considered by Members to be dysfunctional and unfit for purpose in the current Industrial Relations Structures of the State. While recognising the position and importance of a steadfast Defence Forces to the security and stability of the State, military personnel merit access to industrial relations processes that are equitable, effective and efficient. RACO observes how Government are progressing a fundamental review of An Garda Síochána Industrial Relation’s structures and accordingly seeks the immediate alignment of structures, process and timelines for the Defence Forces with Cabinet approved changes to the Garda scheme.
