Working in Norfolk, is idyllic;
my rural location is definitely a
huge influence on my style of
artwork. My studio is stuffed full
of fabric, ribbon, lace, trim,
pencils, paints, paper; you name
it! It is artistry heaven. I am
constantly collecting pieces of
fabric, dinky remnants and charity
shop finds; I have even been known
to smuggle one of my husbands ties
out of his wardrobe if the fabric
is ‘just right’ for a piece I’m
working on, I guess I’m the magpie
of material!
My process normally starts with a
sketch, when I’m working on
commission pieces I draw a
coloured thumbnail and include
some fabric swatches to help my
client visualise the finished
piece.
