We have made an impact on our early learning center families in the past two years. We have
made strong, long lasting relationships with families. We see a difference in the way that
families feel like they can trust us. They refer their friends to our program so that their children
can experience the warm, nurturing environment. We have built a Touchpoints lending library
for families in the Director’s office. Families are thrilled to read about Dr. Brazelton’s point of
view on things like feeding and sleep – always two hot topics.
We have one team of providers that have been trained and another team to be trained in August.
We use the reflective practice often in supervision and when faced with challenges with a child.
Staff finds it helpful to take another perspective and talk through what might be happening with a
family. We are excited to get our second group trained.
We would love to get our home visitors trained in the next few years so that we can make an
impact on families out in the community. We have worked on family engagement in all of our
home visiting programs and feel like this will be the perfect fit for us to continue this work.
We have extended reflective practice to almost all of the early childhood programs. Staff have
found it helpful and it lets them take a different look at a situation and come up with good
positive outcomes.
