the lesser). Some modern astrologers have amended
this belief, realizing that Saturn and Jupiter have both
good and bad qualities, and both destructive and
constructive potential, depending on its positioning,
dignity, and aspects to other planets and angles in the
natal chart. I personally have a poorly positioned
Jupiter in my own natal chart, and a Saturn somewhat
balanced by both good and bad aspects, as well as a
decent position in my chart in general. Though I have
most definitely felt the negative effects of Saturn in my
life, I have also experienced the positive effects as
well. Even the negative experiences I have had
concerning Saturn left me with something constructive;
a lesson learned, an unhappy or unpleasant situation
that turned out to be for the best in the long run.
Jupiter, on the other hand, though not without its
benefits, has often been somewhat of a downfall in my
natal chart, at times my enemy, and sometimes (though
not always) a nightmare during transits, sometimes it
just is not obvious at the time. For example, Jupiter
and Venus can both encourage you to spend a greater
amount of money than you usually would, which is
great fun at the time, until the bills, and credit card
bills start rolling in, and you are short for necessities
later on.
It seems that Jupiter and Saturn both have reputations
they don’t completely deserve. In my personal
experiences with these two planets I have observed
that Jupiter may seem good or at least alright at the
time, but later I realize it was false and in fact turned
