Be Well 4 Life picked up in 2020 right where it left off in 2019, as the first corporate challenge
of the year got underway on January 8. With almost 80 participants, made up of BWL employees, contractors, and family members, the challenge focused on overall wellness, giving a different look to
this challenge than previous versions that had been done in the past.
As part of its ongoing relationship with On Target Living, the two groups combined to put together
an eight-week challenge that rewarded a well-balanced approach to wellness. This challenge included the
ability to gain points for
things like meditation, water consumption, physical activity, eating healthy, and even
sleep (yes you got points for sleeping)!
The challenge also included opportunities for group workout classes, meal
prep sessions, and even
a live healthy cooking demonstration.
The winning team at the end of it all was the Nerd Herd, made up of Rachel Martin, Emily Wright, EJ Donaldson, Kelsey Khoury, Lori Gray, and Miranda Bliss. This group came together to fend off all other

competitors by a slim margin of less than four points per week average over the eight weeks.
Overall, this challenge was a great way to kick start the new calendar year. The dedication and effort put forth by the challenge participants yielded some fantastic results, and was a great first step in both keeping resolutions and building new ones for the upcoming year.
The spirit of the challenge, focusing on overall wellness, helped reflect the views of the Be Well 4 Life program. It was a great reminder of the impact that wellness can
have, not only giving multiple avenues to achieve wellness, but at the end of the day leaving everyone motivated and excited for what is coming next.
So what's next? We're hoping for another Be Well 4 Life challenge in 2020, kicking
off sometime after the summer. In the meantime,
Be Well 4 Life will continue providing resources to support employees, retirees and their family members to achieve their wellness goals working remotely during these highly unique times.
