Before beginning his employment at the BWL, Mark was a member of IBEW Local 17, working as a Journeyman Tree Trimmer for seven years . He is married with three children; Mary Lynn (8), Arabella (7), and Paul (3) . He enjoys kayaking in his free time . Start Date: 3/2/2020
Evan Barratt- Network Architect, Information Technology
Before arriving at the BWL, Evan was the Technology Manager for MCEDSV in Okemos, Michigan . He was a one-man IT shop, and he oversaw all facets of technology for the organization . He lives in Holt with his wife, Amanda, and they have two Great Danes named “Apollo” and “High Tower” . He enjoys homebrewing, and he hopes to enter some competitions this year . He also enjoys working out and living a healthy lifestyle . Start Date: 1/6/2020
James Black – Customer Billing Representative 1, Customer Billing
James spent nine years as a CNC machinist and CAD programmer before his
arrival at the BWL . He also worked as a personal assistant for LCC, performing
accounting and inventory duties . James is originally from Laingsburg . He enjoys being outdoors and spendingtime with his two-year-old German Shephard/Husky mix, named Nix . In his free time, James likes to go camping and watch sports (University of Michigan and
Detroit Lions are his favorite) . He enjoys 3D printing and keeping up to date with

Brian Coots – Engineer, Electric System Integrity Engineering
Brian worked in Grand Rapids with Consumers Energy before arriving at the BWL . He also spent time working in Low Voltage Distribution Planning and for an Engineering consulting firm . He
is a Western Michigan University graduate, and he enjoys being outdoors . His hobbies include fishing, reading, playing chess, and relaxing . Start Date: 1/13/2020
Michael George – Scada Systems Engineer, Operational Technology
Michael worked for Lean Logistics /BlueJay Solutions as a Linux Technical Lead before his arrival at the BWL . He also spent time working at Sparrow Health System as a Senior UNIX/ Storage Administrator in Community Mental Health, and CEI as a System Analyst . He has been married for 25 years, and he and his wife have eight children ranging from 8 years to 22 years old . They homeschool four of their children, and they live in the Pewamo-Westphalia/Fowler area . Michael enjoys educating their children, trail riding on motorcycles, Family Technology resource, UNIX/Linux, and reading (when he has the time) . Start Date: 1/21/2020
Zachary Huntley – Utility Line Clearance Trimmer, Vegetation Management
Before arriving at the BWL, Zach worked for Wright’s Tree Service, which is the job he began after his high school graduation . He has two younger sisters and two dogs; a Pit and a Bull Mastiff . His dog’s names are Capone and Jager . He loves to go hunting, and he is a big PC gamer . He also enjoys riding his Harley as much as he can . Start Date: 3/2/2020
