 John Ney
John began his career at the BWL on October 15, 2001, as a Maintenance Mechanic in Maintenance and Construction . He retired as a Maintenance Mechanic at Erickson on January 22, 2020, after 18 .27 years of service .
Brad Rogers
Brad began working at the Lansing Board of Water and Light on October 15, 2001 as a Maintenance Mechanic in the Maintenance and Construction Resource Center . In 2006,
he began his Apprenticeship for the Instrument and Control Specialist at Eckert . His Apprenticeship ended in 2011, which allowed him to earn the title Instrument and Control Specialist . He began working as an Electric Control Specialist for Electric Test Group in 2015 . In 2018, Brad continued his work as an Electric Control Specialist, but in Operational Technology . This is the position from which he retired on February 29, 2020, after 17 .79 years of service .
Darryl Scott
Darryl was hired at the BWL in 1979 as a Temporary Laborer in General Maintenance . He became a permanent employee the following year when he was promoted to a Boiler Operator at Ottawa Station . While working at Ottawa, he also held the positions of Pump Operator and Turbine Operator . In 1984, Darryl transferred to Moores Park Steam Plant as an Auxiliary Fireman and was promoted in 1988 to a Steam Production Operator . Darryl transferred to Eckert Station in 1998 as an Operator B in Water Treatment, which is the position he held until his retirement on February 1, 2020, after 40 .22 years of service .
Casmera Szocinski
Cas came to the BWL in 1992 as a Clerk-Typist Bookkeeper C for Customer Service . The position title changed to Customer Service Representative 1 the following year, and she climbed up to CSR3 in 1996 . In 1998, her Customer Service Representative role moved to the Call Center, where she remained until her retirement on January 4, 2020, after 27 .80 years of service .
Eddie Whitcomb
Eddie was hired at the Board on August 28, 1989, as an Equipment Mechanic . Five years later, he became an Apprentice Lineworker . After two years in his apprenticeship, he became a Lineworker . Eddie continued as a Lineworker for six years before becoming the Supervisor of the Electric Construction Crew in 2004 . In 2010, he became Lineworker Leader, which is the position he held until his retirement on January 11, 2020, after 30 .37 years of service .
