Middle Schoolers Enjoy Top TalentS
The Middle School Hoop season — though not a cham pionship one — was a winner for the Middle School Bas ketball Team as they rolled to a 7-3 league record and an
11-3 overall.
Led by guard Scott Laba and center Greg Aumiller,
the young hoopsters saw strong performances from for wards Tim Phelps and Bobby Campbell, as well as Nelson Whitmore. This strength enabled the squad to
roll over CBA, Albany, LaSalle School and LaSalle Insti
tute in the first Christian Brothers Junior High tournament, At the end of the CBA game we led by 19 points (68-49)1 because of an aggressive press — which proved to be the strong point of the season.
While a disappointing loss to St. Charles — due to missed opportunities and a buzzer sounding shot by their opponents, marred a super season. Coach Maxwell has every right to expect his seventh graders to continue a fine tradition next year.
