 CDath ^eam
The 1991/1992 Math team, under the guidance of Mr. John Owens began a promising year at the first of four Math meets. Members hoped their record would improve in the next three months but an unfortunate losing streak gripped the team, leaving the team 0-4 over all.
The Math team attends meets where rival teams compete for the most number of points by answering six Math problems during the meet. Each team can score a maximum of five points per question with a maximum of thirty points total at the end.
C.B.A.’s rival teams, Fabius-Pompey, La- Fayette, and Tully proved to be harder to conquer than was previously expected. Re gardless of C.B.A.’s 0-4 record, the team at tended the all-county meet in February, where the top teams competed for the right to go on to the State meet.
CDath league
The junior high math league is a new ad dition to the competitive clubs at C.B.A. The team met before competitions to prepare with sample problems and coaching from Mr. Schnipp. The team went to three competi tions this year and finished in the top half of the 17 school league. The meets each last ed about an hour during which the team is presented with a series of problems to solve. Points scored in meets are accumulated over the season for team and individual trophies.
