centered it to Greg Goodwin who neatly put it into the
net. Greg Goodwin scored one more time for the Broth­
ers producing a 2-0 score.
The squad went on to win an unnecessary cross-over
game against Cazenovia and then to quarter final play in
the state tournament. This match against a very physical
Canton team saw nothing go right for the Brothers. A rain
drenched artificial turf and a hustling Canton team defeat­
ed the Brothers 4-0. With an overall record of 16-4, the
Brothers were rewarded with two banners, one for the
City-League Championship, another for the Sectional

The defensive key was sweeper Steve Buckler, who
was also placed on the All-City team. Steve continually
frustrated opponents and helped keep the pressure off
goalie K.C. O’Hara.
Captain Dave Kopp and Senior Tim Teelin led the
Midfield. They dominated the field and overwhelmed their
opponents with consistent hustle. Both Dave and Tim re­
ceived All-City recognition.
To cap an exciting year, a playoff rematch with J-D saw
the Brothers take revenge for two seasonal losses to the
Red Rams. In freezing rain and frigid temperatures, the
game remained scoreless with only 2:14 left to play. A
Championship.
