Step 1: Choose a location.
Visit www.FloridaConcealedCarryLaws.com to choose the location that is closest to you.
Step 2: What you need to bring
You will need your driver's license, a copy of your concealed carry course certificate and the filing fee. You may also need some additional documents if any of the following apply to you:
Name Change - For changes in your name, provide a copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court documentation.
Arrest Records - If you have ever been arrested, you should bring certified copies of the court documentation reflecting the final disposition of the charge(s) filed against you.
Immigration Statues - If you are an immigrant who became a U.S. citizen, you must bring your passport or naturalization certificate. If you are a permanent resident alien, simply bring your green card.
Military Member - If you are active duty military or a military veteran who received an honorable discharge, your concealed carry permit will be expedited. However, you must provide one of the following documents: CAC card, retirement ID card, military orders or DD form 214.
Step 3: What's going to happen?
When you arrive, you will sit down at a computer to complete your application. Then your electronic fingerprints and photograph will be taken. Finally, you will pay the application fee and receive a receipt with your application tracking number listed on it.
Step 4: Tracking the Status
By law, the state of Florida has 12 weeks to approve or deny your application. However, most people receive their approved concealed carry permit within a few weeks. You can track the status of your application by visiting www.FloridaConcealedCarryLaws.com. Here you will be able to enter your tracking number to see what stage of the process your application is in.
