The summer of 2022 marked another great year for Ensign Fleet 35. We had 16
Wednesday night races, which is a sign our race night weather was above
average. A big shout out to our Race Committee, Steve Thocker, for an
excellent job of getting the races in! Steve has been with us for several years
now, and we are beyond fortunate to have him.
Fleet 35 is possibly the most active fleet in the country with 14 boats signing up
for racing for the past several years. This year, we were able to add two more
active boats! 1555 Falcon owned by Denis Nezich, and 844 Black Sheep owned
jointly by Benjamin Andrus, Joshua Ingber and Christine Stern were a welcomed
addition to the Fleet. Both boats participated actively and definitely learned a lot.
We are all excited to have them back next year. With these two additions, we
had 16 active boats and several nights where 15 boats were on the line!
Hopefully we get all 16 out at the same time next year.
It's hard to talk about competitive sailboat racing without discussing the score. In
Fleet 35 we are fortunate to have very strong competition at the top of the fleet,
