Acappella Sounds Chorus (continued)
We were still welcoming new members, and almost half the members on stage had never been to contest
before, including me. The newest member on stage first visited in January of 2023
May seemed to come round so quickly, and before I knew It, we were having our last dress rehearsal.
Contest weekend itself seemed to go by in a flash! I arrived early Friday afternoon and saw the last quartet.
We rehearsed Saturday morning, and it finally hit me that I was here and ready! The emotions I felt were
surprising, but I guess after 4 years of waiting, a lot of it was relief! The performance went by so fast; it
must have been good though as we won the Audience Choice Award!
The Saturday was a long but incredibly enjoyable day. It was fantastic to meet some people I’ve only met
on zoom, like Sally Jeffrey! I now fully understand what it means to be part of Sweet Adelines.
