Sound of New England Chorus (continued)

I dug deep and the chance was placed before me.
And here I am... I did it! Despite the past. Those terrified frozen moments of fear, the debilitating state of
no voice coming out - stage fright - no sound
My burning cheeks of disbelief and despair, the certainty that no matter how well prepared, it would always
happen, and then retching in some hidden corner.
But here I am... I did it, and no more demons of the past followed me. Feeling more than confident, knew
the plan, every inch - every note - every breath.
And then what comes from all that is the joy of the song and the sound of the harmony and what you can
create with your voice.
The trust, three other women's voices blending with yours.
Here I am...I did it with love surrounding me. And YES, I am so proud... of me. And my quartet - my
friends, those crazy, unique, whacky and wildly fun, loving
And talented harmony sisters of mine. My barbershop peeps who challenge me to be more than I ever
thought I could be. They spice up my life.
So... I walked across a soft silver stage and stood under the lights and stared down at eight judges and only
felt the fullness of the moment, a big deep breath,
That flutter of anticipation and then stepping back and allowing myself to be the vessel for beautiful music.
I shared the intimate inside notes...of me, of who I am, my personal vibrations - the sound of my soul, the
radiance of me, being me and embracing my gift
The ability to sing and harmonize and fill the circle of sound and spin it out into the universe. Lucky me... I
don't care what the numbers say
