                                From our Education Coordinator

        Region 1!
Here we are in 2023 and lots of stuff is happening! Needless to say, the world is a different place and all of our
SAI lives are changed, too –I think that the reset is gonna work for us. Here’s what’s happening!

                                                            th
Our first NEW event is 4 PART FRENZY, Saturday, July 29 . I’m excited about this one! I think its gonna be
so much fun! The core of this idea came from a quartet survey! Look for the details in this TAGS AND
        SWIPES!

Also – Next Winter will be different for Region 1. Instead of the usual Regional weekend, I am planning two 1
day events – one in January and one in February. I am looking at Amhurst for one and need to find a location in
the Auburn, Sturbridge, Northern RI-ish area for the other. There will be a link to local hotels if you want to
crash for Friday and/or Saturday night as well as local restaurants for your meals. You get to control your
spending. While these are in different areas, if you choose to go to both – you can! You get to go to either of
them, just trying to make the more easily accessible to our regional population.

I am not sure yet WHAT will happen at these events – I have a thought that these days will be filled with in-
house coaching with our stellar Regional personnel, private instruction and education to get us prepared for
contest and/or strengthening our musical skills - which is a wonderful segue to my next pitch!

CHRISTINE and I NEED YOUR HELP – As you know, Events finds the venues and Education work
creates the programs for your education. We need help from all of you! We are planning to have a TOWN
HALL ZOOM for all of Region 1 so look for your invitation!

 We need your help to find venues for these 1 day events. You know your locales better than we do: Club
facilities, church halls, etc. The physical center of our Region seems to be Keene, NH and the Population
center of our Region is probably in the Wooster, Auburn Area. Christine will supply a list of what we
need in a good venue for our events.

 What ideas would you have for these Winter one-day events? It might be too expensive to get outside
faculty for at least one location, so what ideas would work to use all the talent we have in our Region to
             build us all up.
Hotels are costly, which is fine if we fill our room blocks, but if we don’t, it costs the Region lots of money for
the space we need. We are trying to get the most bang for our buck while still providing our Region with the
support and education we need. Needless to say – COVID cost us money. So please join us bring ideas!
It’s so great to be able to gather again. Looking forward to Newport!
