Happy New Year, Region 1! Are ya ready for an exciting year! So, let’s break it down –

WINTER WATCHAMACALLITS – Two one-day events in different locations.
Instead of the usual full Winter Regional at a hotel, we are trying this one-day event using our own
talented in-house teachers. Each Watchamacallit is different because of the room availability at the venues
that were able to get. Coaching for small groups/choruses and quartets is a focus for January so that we get
a good start on our contest preparation or just honing our skills for performance and education. February
Watchamacallit has a Geek Track, Quartet Track, YSIH and all kinds of singing for everyone. I will have a
virtual Focus Group in March so you can tell me your thoughts about this two-event concept.

FRENZY 2024 – There will be a Frenzy this summer! More Tags, more singing, more fun! I’m thinking
of adding a track or two alongside it- still in the thinking stages – but be on the lookout that this summer.
Would also love a good venue for it. You will see that our February venue is the kind I’d like to have for
these one-day events so check it out and look in your areas for me to find another gem of a venue.

COLORS OF HARMONY - September 19-21, 2024 – ERIN HOWDEN WILL BE IN THE
HOUSE! I’m very excited to get Erin in for this weekend! Let’s polish up our visual skills. Erin Howden
is the Director of the North Metro Chorus in Toronto, Canada and was their extremely talented
Choreographer for many years. Google North Metro Chorus – check YouTube. You will see what they
have done when she was designing their choreo…definitely masterful. You will NOT want to miss this
weekend!

TIDBITS:

COACHING UNDER GLASS at Regional Events: Please take advantage of these - especially on
Sunday AM. If your chorus or quartet gets coached “under glass” on the weekend, you get to sing a
couple of songs on Saturday night! If you haven’t been coached under glass at a Regional and want to,
you need to get to me ASAP – otherwise I will let those who already have been coached sign up again. If
you are curious and want details – email me!

PRIVATE INSTRUCTION COACHING – is not just for quartets anymore! If you have or want to get a
group together from your chorus to get coaching on one of your songs – sign up! If you want your
Tenor/Lead/Bari/Bass Section to get some coaching on a chorus song – sign up! If you are an octet or
small performing group – sign up! If you want your Music Team to get coaching – sign up!
