Cupcake Toppers
Ever wonder where to buy cupcake toppers, those little plastic toys and
objects used to decorate the top of frosted cupcakes? They’re nice to have
when you don’t have the time to pipe on elaborate frosting embellishments.
And let’s face it, kids love pulling these out of the cake and licking off the
frosting. Begin with the baking aisle of your supermarket for fun stick-ins
and curvy candles. If you can’t find what you need, go to a craft store that
sells Wilton cake decorating supplies. You’ll find an assortment of seasonal
plastic trinkets and those tried and true clowns, soccer balls, and ballerinas.
For a larger selection, head to: The Wilton catalog or www.wilton.com. I
found a dazzling array of candles, and cake toppers like flags, circus
animals, jungle animals, dinosaurs, and dolls. To get a catalog call toll-free,

The Sweet Celebrations catalog. I found great happy birthday picks, and
ones topped with tennis balls, soccer balls, hearts, clowns, and balloons.

5. Meanwhile, prepare the Marshmallow Frosting.
6. Carefully remove the liner from each cupcake, taking care that the graham
cracker crumbs don’t fall off, before you frost them. Place a heaping tablespoon
of frosting on each cupcake and swirl to spread it out with a short metal spatula
or spoon, taking care to cover the tops completely. Garnish with the reserved
coarsely chopped graham crackers and a piece of milk chocolate. The cupcakes
are ready to serve.
Store these cupcakes, in a cake saver or under a glass dome, in the
refrigerator for up to 1 week.
